At 33 my learning disabilities were diagnosed. They were pronounced and I was unable to hold steady employment. That, unfortunately, didn’t explain all of my difficulties. It wasn’t until I was 70 that I was also diagnosed with ADHD, which helped explain my challenges with reading. I have struggled with reading all my life. I had reached out for help with reading after my frustration with comprehension led me to give up books. I had a hard time finding someone who would work with an adult but in Jill I found a supportive tutor. She has helped me overcome my reading struggles and develop new strategies. The fact that she’s also a life coach has been a game-changer; allowing me to tackle not only my reading challenges but also my time management and some of social difficulties. It’s wonderful that I’m now reading books regularly and enjoying the process, which is a testament to Jill’s expertise.
